Requests and Precautions for TGS Visitors

Countermeasures against Infectious Diseases

Please refrain from visiting the exhibition if you have a fever of 37.5℃ or higher, or if you have any symptoms of a cold.
If you are concerned about your physical condition or have a chronic illness, please consider participating by bringing someone with you who can provide support.
Please note that admission may be denied if your body temperature exceeds 37.5℃.

Please be careful of heat stroke!

Although it is September on the day of the event, we may still experience severe heat. To prevent heat stroke, please drink plenty of water and take in salt.

Prohibited Acts

  • All-night activities around the venue are strictly prohibited at TOKYO GAME SHOW.
  • In order to prevent accidents in the exhibition halls, the use of selfie sticks and walking around with a smartphone are prohibited in the halls.
    Smartphone selfie sticks with a total length of 50cm or more cannot be brought into the venue.
  • Please do not run in the hall as it is dangerous.
    TGS Management Office reserves the right to refuse entry to visitors or order them to leave the facility if they engage in any dangerous behavior, cause trouble for other visitors, or obstruct the smooth operation of the event.
    If you see any suspicious activity, please contact the nearest staff.
  • Cheering, shouting, call and response, jumping, and other forms of cheering are prohibited while viewing the stages in exhibitors' booths.
    Please be aware that if any prohibited behavior is observed while viewing the stage in exhibitors' booths, the stage performance itself may be cancelled.
  • Photography and videotaping/distribution may be restricted or prohibited in some exhibitor booths.
  • The use of tethering functions of mobile Wi-Fi routers, smartphones, etc. is prohibited in Hall 1-11. In recent years, the rapid increase in the number of various mobile devices has resulted in a poor reception environment in the exhibition halls. There is a limit to the number of wireless LAN signals available, and if the number of devices using wireless LAN increases, it may have a significant impact on demonstrations and test runs at the venue. If you wish to use the wireless LAN, please use the Makuhari Messe Free Wi-Fi service located in the Central Mall on the 2nd floor, etc.

Measures to Reduce Congestion

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2024 will implement measures to reduce congestion in the exhibition halls so that everyone can enjoy TGS with peace of mind.
Limit the number of people in each venue area to prevent excessive concentration of visitors in one location.

  • Sensors are installed at each entrance and exit to control the number of people in each area in real time.
  • When the number reaches a certain number, entry to that area will be temporarily suspended and visitors will be directed to other areas.
  • Please note that you will not be allowed to enter the restricted areas until the crowding eases.

For visitors to the Business Day

  • Only persons related to the game business will be allowed to enter the Business Days (September 26th and 27th). Please pre-register before coming.
  • Please be sure to bring your business card and identification documents as we will check them at the reception desk.
  • No one under the age of 18 or students (including university and college undergraduate students) will be admitted. Admission with infants and preschool children is also not permitted.
  • Please do not bring any prohibited items (see below) into the venue.
  • Please refrain from coming to the venue if you have a fever of 37.5℃ or higher, or if you have any symptoms of a cold.
  • Exhibits, events, and duration of the event may be subject to change due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizer.
  • A special gate is available for visitors with disabilities who require an escort. Please ask the staff.
  • Except for guide dogs, service dogs, and other assistance dogs, pets are not allowed to enter the venue.
  • Please follow the instructions of the attendants at the venue. If you do not follow the instructions, you may be asked to leave the venue. The organizers will not be liable for any accidents that may occur if the instructions and precautions are not followed.
  • The organizers will not be held responsible for any theft or accident.
  • No call-out broadcasts will be made inside the venue.
  • Smoking is prohibited inside the venue. Please smoke in designated areas.
  • Please eat and drink at the food court and restaurants in Makuhari Messe.
  • The organizer's office will be filming and photographing at the venue, and visitors' images may appear on TV, newspapers, magazines, websites, etc. Please be aware of this. Please understand this in advance.

For visitors to the General Public Day

  • On Public Days (September 28th and 29th), baggage checks will be conducted for visitors.
    Bringing prohibited items into the venue is strictly prohibited. For more details, please refer to the following information on baggage screening.
  • There are two general admission entrances, one on the side of Hall 1-8 (West Plaza) and the other on the side of Hall 9-11 (1st floor of Hall 10).
    Please note that after the doors open, visitors can move from Hall 1-8 to 9-11, please note that you will not be able to move from Hall 9-11 to Hall 1-8 during the restricted admission period (until 10:30 on the 28th and until 10:00 on the 29th). Those who have moved from Hall 1-8 to Hall 9-11 after the exhibition opens will not be able to return to Hall 1-8 during the restricted admission period.
  • Initial admission will be until 16:00 on Saturday, 28th and until 15:30 on Sunday, 29th. Please note that after this time, even if you have an admission ticket, you will not be allowed to enter.
    Re-entry will be available until 16:30 on Saturday, 28th and until 16:00 on Sunday, 29th.
    Please note that both admission and re-entry times will be earlier on Sunday the 29th.
  • The number of people in each area (Hall 1-3, 4-6, 7-8, and 9-11) is limited to prevent too many people from concentrating in one location. Sensors are installed at each entrance and exit to control the number of people in each area in real time. When the number of people in an area reaches a predetermined number, entry to that area will be restricted and visitors will be directed to other areas. After the congestion is alleviated, visitors may re-enter the area.
    However, if you have a reservation ticket for a test play or stage reservation at a booth in the area during the restricted admission, you may enter the venue even during the restricted admission period after confirming the start time. Please follow the instructions of the guidance staff if you have a reservation ticket.
  • If you have TGS Supporters' Club ticket and wish to enter from Hall 9-11 side, please see "For Supporters' Club Ticket Holders" below.
  • Admission to the Family Game Park is free for children of junior high school age and under and their parents/guardians accompanying them.
  • The Family Game Park is accessible via a designated entrance.
    Once the doors open, visitors will not be allowed to move from the Family Game Park to other areas (Hall 1-11) during the restricted admission period.
    However, admission to other areas of the Tokyo Game Show will be charged to all junior high school students and older.
  • Please refrain from visiting the exhibition if you have a fever of 37.5℃ or higher, or if you have any symptoms of a cold.

About Baggage Inspection

For the purpose of ensuring the safety of visitors to TOKYO GAME SHOW 2024, baggage inspections will be conducted on September 28th (Sat.) and 29th (Sun.), the two days the show is open to the public. Please note that visitors re-entering the venue and those entering through the various dedicated entrances will also be subject to baggage screening.
Please note that it is strictly prohibited to bring prohibited items into the venue.
Please bring as little baggage as possible and bring it with you to the venue so that it will be easier to inspect your baggage. Even if you bring a carry-on bag or a large bag, the contents will be checked at the inspection station.
It is expected that it will take some time to enter the venue if you have a lot of baggage. Please allow plenty of time for your arrival. Please note that the contents of PET bottles may be checked.
We ask for your understanding and cooperation in this matter for the sake of safety management at the venue.

List of prohibited items

The following items are prohibited.

  • Long objects (of any material) with a total length of 50 cm or more.
    This includes casas, walking sticks, rackets, and similar objects (even if they are extendable or disassembled, the maximum length exceeding 50 cm cannot be brought in). (Excluding casas for rainy weather. This also includes costumes and ornaments such as cosplay helmets and armor, etc. Horns, shoulders, and other ornaments exceeding 50 cm in length are prohibited.
  • Weapons and armors such as firearms, swords, chains, model guns, air guns, knives, sharp objects such as ice picks, pincers, needles, scissors, etc. Pointed objects also include ornaments of costumes such as helmets, armor, etc.
  • Objects that may cause harm to the surroundings
    Do not bring bicycles, drone, roller skates, skateboards, or throwable items (yo-yos, balls, disks, etc.).
  • Alcohol, fuel, chemicals, or items that make noise
    Flammables, highly flammable materials, and items that emit strong odors are prohibited. Alcohol and smoking are prohibited in the venue. No music players, loudspeakers, musical instruments, or other noisy activities such as singing in chorus are prohibited. Carrying food (including raw vegetables) is also prohibited as it may stain the venue and the clothes of those around you.

Neither the sponsoring organization nor the venue will be liable for any disadvantages or accidents caused by visitors' belongings other than those mentioned above.

*Other items deemed dangerous by the staff are not allowed.

To all TGS Supporters Club ticket holders

  • "TGS2024 SUPPORTERS CLUB Ticket" holders may enter to the venue either through HALL 1-8 or HALL 9-11.
    Priority Entrance wating line starts at the time of the first train at JR Kaihin Makuhari Station. Please follow a guideboard at Makuhari Messe and event staff's instruction to get in the line of priority entrance.
    Please note that priority admission is not available from any other entrance lanes.
  • Please line up in the priority admission lane by 9:30 on Saturday the 28th and by 9:00 on Sunday the 29th. After this time, you will not be allowed to use the priority admission lane and will have to wait in the same admission line as the one-day admission ticket holders.
  • Please note that if you enter from Hall 9-11, there will be restrictions on moving to Hall 1-8.
    You will not be able to move from Hall 9-11 to Hall 1-8 until 10:30am on the 28th and 10:00am on the 29th.
  • The priority entry wating zone for "TGS2024 SUPPORTERS CLUB Ticket" holders will be removed after the designated time by the Management Office. After removal, please enter on the same way as the genneral admission ticket holders.
  • The exchange point in the Priority Entrance Lane on the Hall 1-8 side will be open for the exchange of the exchange ticket for the special prize goods. Please exchange your voucher for the privilege goods at the information desk at the 2nd floor central entrance on the side of Hall 1-8 after 11:00am.
  • To receive Special Goods, you will need to have the ticket even if you are students under primary school age (except infants).

For Cosplayers​

About coming to the event

No one is allowed to come, leave, or return home in cosplay.
Cosplayers are required to have a cosplay registration as well as an admission ticket.

Cosplay Registration

Cosplayers must first fill out a cosplay registration form and register at the cosplay registration desk in Hall 9.
Cosplay registration fee: 2,000 yen (tax included: includes use of changing rooms and cloakroom)
Those who have completed registration will receive a "cosplay registration card ( Wristband )" and a note of caution. Please note that you will not be allowed to cosplay in the venue without a "Cosplay Registration Card".
The Wristband will also be required when entering the changing rooms, so please be sure to post it where it can be seen.
The cosplay registration form will be available at the venue, but it will be easier to register if you print out the PDF file and fill it out in advance.

Use of Changing Rooms (Hall 9)

  • Hours of operation: 28th(Sat) OPEN - 5:00pm / 29th(Sun) OPEN - 4:30pm
    • *Because of the congestion near the end of the day, please change your clothes as early as 1 hour before the end of the day.
    • *Please note that the opening and closing times are different on the 28th and 29th.
  • The "Cosplay Changing Room" in Hall 9 is the only place to change. Changing in other places, such as restrooms, is strictly prohibited. If you wish to change first, please come to the entrance on the side of Halls 9-11 (Hall 10, 1st floor). Please note that visitors entering from Hall 9-11 will not be able to move to Hall 1-8 until 10:30am on the 28th and 10:00am on the 29th.
  • The use of hairspray, color spray, etc. is prohibited in the venue (including the changing rooms).
  • Eating, drinking, resting, and photographing are not permitted in the changing rooms. If you find any suspicious items in the changing rooms, such as spy cameras, please call a staff member immediately.
  • The men's changing rooms may become a "temporary women's changing rooms" for a certain period of time depending on the situation.
  • Luggage will be kept in the cloakroom, but please be sure to carry and manage valuables and fragile items on your own. The organizers will not be held responsible for any theft or damage. All luggage left unattended in the exhibition hall will be treated as lost property.
  • Please cooperate with the staff checking costumes at the changing room exit. Props that are in violation of regulations may be kept.
  • It is prohibited to come to the venue or leave the venue while wearing cosplay costumes. It is possible to go back and forth between Hall 1-8 and 9-11.
  • In all cases other than those mentioned above, cosplayers do so at their own risk. Neither the sponsoring organizers nor the venue will be held responsible for any disadvantages or accidents caused by the content or type of cosplay.

Early Morning Opening of the Cosplay Changing Rooms

  • Early morning reception: 28th(Sat) Kaihin-Makuhari Station, from the time of the first train to 7:45am / 29th(Sun) Kaihin-Makuhari Station, from the time of the first train to - 7:15am
  • Locker Room Exit Time: 28th(Sat) - 8:30am / 29th(Sun) - 8:00am

    *Please note that the reception hours are different on the 28th and 29th.

  • We ask for the cooperation of all visitors who have entered the changing rooms during the reception hours, as they will be asked to leave the changing rooms by the exit time. After using the changing rooms, please line up at the end of the waiting line for admission at the entrance on the Hall 1-8 side (West Plaza) or the entrance on the Hall 9-11 side (Hall 10, 1st floor).
  • If you arrive after the above times and wish to change first, please line up in the general waiting line by Halls 9-11 and use the changing rooms after the doors open.
  • Please note that if you enter from Hall 9-11, there will be restrictions on moving to Hall 1-8.
    You will not be able to move to Hall 1-8 until 10:30am on the 28th and 10:00am on the 29th.
  • General admission tickets or Supporters Club tickets are required to use the early morning locker rooms. Please purchase your tickets in advance before coming to the venue.

Early morning use of the cosplay changing rooms for Supporters' Club ticket purchasers

The cosplay changing rooms are located in Hall 9, so the method of use will depend on whether you wish to enter Hall 1-8 or 9-11 first.

If you wish to enter Hall 1-8 first
The smoothest route from the station is to change in the changing rooms on the Hall 9-11 side (Hall 9), then go to the entrance on Hall 1-8 side (West Plaza) to register for Supporters' Club tickets. However, if you want to get your Supporters' Club ticket number as early as possible, you should first check in for Supporters' Club tickets near the entrance on the Hall 1-8 side, then go outside to Hall 9-11 side, change in the cosplay changing rooms, and then return to the Supporters' Club line on the Hall 1-8 side. After changing in the cosplay changing rooms, please return to the Supporters' Club line on Halls 1-8 side.
If you wish to enter Hall 9-11 first
Please go directly to the entrance on the Hall 9-11 side (Hall 10, 1st floor). After changing in the changing rooms, please line up in the Supporters' Club line on the Hall 10 side. There is no exchange counter for the special goods on the Hall 9-11 side, so please exchange the special goods at the information desk in front of Hall 5 on the 2nd floor concourse of Hall 1-8 after 11:00 a.m. (valid only on the day of the event).

Attention at the time of admission

  • Please note that if you enter from Hall 9-11, there will be restrictions on moving to Hall 1-8.
    You will not be able to move to Hall 1-8 until 10:30am on the 28th and 10:00am on the 29th.
  • Identification will be conducted for those who enter with TGS Supporters' Club tickets.
    Please do not leave your identification documents at the cloakroom.

Precautions at the venue

  • Please abstain from any behavior such as running around, making noise, or engaging in other activities that may disturb others, such as flashy attractions or performances.
  • When going around the exhibition hall, please do not disturb the exhibitors' booths or the general public.
  • Please refrain from sitting in groups or standing around talking to others in the exhibition hall.

Costumes

The following costumes are prohibited. If you are found to be in violation, you may be asked to stop your cosplay.

  • Costumes for professions with special responsibilities in the workplace.
    Police officer, firefighter, self-defense officer, security guard uniforms, doctor's coats, nurse's uniforms, etc. (excluding fictional police and military forces that appear in the game)
  • Costumes with too much exposed skin
    Costumes that directly reveal skin or undergarments (including those that look like underwear) such as chest and waist, etc., and costumes that are too revealing should always be worn with non-transparent underwear, tights, spats, etc., so as not to directly reveal skin or undergarments.

    *Only men may be photographed in costumes that expose the skin of the chest area, but please wear a jacket or similar item so that the skin is not directly visible, except when photographing in the cosplay area.

  • Costumes that cause discomfort to others around you
    Nazi uniforms, costumes reminiscent of terrorism, blood glue (*At a minimum, costumes that are necessary for the production may be allowed after on-site confirmation, but please cover the area when moving within the hall), tattoos, etc.
    Costumes that are associated with specific individuals or racial discrimination or that may cause fear among the general public are also prohibited. Even if you are wearing spats or other anti-exposure measures, deliberately showing your underwear or posing in an obscene manner is prohibited.
  • Costumes that disturb the surroundings
    Large size mascot costume, Haribote, skirts or capes that drag on the floor (*Skirts and capes are permitted only when taking pictures. Fold them up when moving around), etc.

Any cosplay other than those listed above should be performed at your own risk. Neither the sponsoring organization nor the venue will be held responsible for any disadvantages or accidents caused by the content or type of cosplay.

*In the event of any other complaints, we may ask you to stop your cosplay.

Regarding props

The following items are prohibited

About Cosplay Filming

  • No registration is required for filming.
  • Photography is allowed only in the cosplay area. The cosplay area will be located in the designated indoor area of Hall 9 and the outdoor area of Hall 9-11.
  • If you wish to photograph, please be sure to obtain permission from the subject of the photo. Please use a wall as a background so that no one unrelated to the subject will be photographed.
  • In principle, photographing a single subject or a small number of subjects in a group of many photographers (so-called "kakomi-shooting") is prohibited.
    If for some unavoidable reason you wish to take a box shooting, please be sure to call a staff member and follow his or her instructions.
  • Large strobes, lights and other photographic equipment with stands, etc. are prohibited. Small equipment must also conform to the regulations for cosplay props (50 cm or less in length). If staff members deem such equipment to be a nuisance to others, they will be prohibited from bringing it in.
  • Video recording is prohibited.
  • Photos taken at the venue may not be posted in publications or sold.
  • Photography for commercial purposes is strictly prohibited.
  • If you wish to post photos you have taken on your personal website or social networking service, please be sure to inform the subject of the photo and ask for permission to do so.
  • We ask for your cooperation in easing congestion by leaving carry-on cases and large equipment bags in lockers.
  • If we determine that you will be a nuisance to other participants, a staff member will ask you to enter the area and may restrict your entry until the crowding eases.
    In addition, we may ask you to stop cosplaying or photographing if there are any complaints. This is an event attended by many people from all over the world. We ask for your cooperation in making the event a pleasant experience for everyone who attends by observing the rules and manners.
